The installation of accessible facilities will be completed in key areas in Beijing by the end of 2021, ready for the Beijing 2022 Winter Games.
BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The installation of accessible facilities in key areas related to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games will be basically done by the end of 2021, Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation confirmed on Saturday.
Based on the 2020 renovation plan, Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation has reinforced its 2021 plan in three key areas: surrounding areas of Winter Olympic and Paralympic venues, downtown areas within the Fourth Ring Road, and the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, with focuses on city roads, public transportation, public service venues and information exchange.
As of June 23, 57.27% of the renovation projects have been completed.
Related departments and authorities in Beijing have also completed the inspection of 108 Olympic and Paralympic venues, and issued further renovation requirements, aiming to offer the best service and facilities possible for the coming athletes and spectators at the Beijing Games.
